Stefania Corneli, M.Sc.S., S-LP(C) - Director of Clinique IUVO and Speech-Language Pathologist

Stefania has been practicing as a speech-language pathologist since graduating in 2016. Previously, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Linguistics and Psychology from McGill and a Master of Health Sciences with a specialization in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Ottawa. After working at another private clinic in Lasalle for three years, Stefania decided to open her own practice in 2019 in Montreal West. Seeing the need continue to grow in LaSalle and surrounding areas, she moved back to Lasalle to expand her practice to include other speech-language pathologists and professionals. It was following this move, in 2020, that Clinique IUVO was born. Stefania is the director and owner of Clinique IUVO, but continues to offer speech therapy services to a varied clientele. Stuttering, reading and writing (dyslexia/dysorthographia), speech sound disorders and orofacial myofunctional disorders are among her main interests.

Stefania is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ) and a certified member with the national group Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC).

Valérie Giguère, M.P.O., S-LP(C) - Director of Special Projects and Speech-Language Pathologist

Valérie has practiced as a speech-language pathologist since October 2018 and has been in the private sector ever since. Until December 2020, she was specializing in speech-language pathology for people living with Parkinson’s disease while working on her Biomedical Science Doctorate degree. She chose to leave academia to devote herself to clinical practice. During her time at Université de Montréal, she worked closely with Parkinson Québec – a nonprofit organization – with whom she developed content for their website.

In 2019, she obtained certification from Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (OAC), which recognizes the excellence of its members and commitment to continuing education. She is committed to the defense of speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Quebec, and sits on the board of the Association québécoise des orthophonistes et audiologistes (AQOA) since 2018. After serving as president for two years, she now holds the position of vice president.

Valérie works with a varied clientele. She specializes in learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia). She also has a special interest in voice disorders in children, stuttering in toddlers, and orofacial myofunctional disorders.

Valérie is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ) and a certified member with the national group Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC).

Gabrielle Desaulniers, M.Sc.S. - Speech-Language Pathologist

Hello! My name is Gabrielle and I've been working as a speech-language pathologist since 2016, when I joined Clinique IUVO in the summer of 2021. Since then, I feel blessed to work alongside my colleagues who have become my friends, but also my clients and their families.

In a nutshell, my job is to help children improve their oral and written language skills. My aim is to provide them with the help and tools they need to communicate effectively. To do this, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment in which they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. In short, speech-language pathology is a stimulating and enriching field that combines many of my interests and allows me to meet some very interesting people: I love it!

Gabrielle is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ).

Alissa Azzimmaturo, MPEd, M.Sc.S., S-LP(C) - Speech-Language Pathologist

Alissa completed her Master of Health Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Ottawa in 2017. She has experience working with a variety of age groups in both French and English. By establishing a trusting relationship with her clients, she provides quality therapy to better meet established functional goals. She ensures that she listens to the needs of each individual to provide them with the proper guidance and tools. Having developed an interest in working with the autistic population, Alissa also completed a Master of Professional Education (MPEd) from the University of Western Ontario in 2022.

Her clinical interests include oral language, speech sound disorders, orofacial myofunctional disorders, dysphagia, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Alissa also has experience in parental coaching and has received trainings from the Hanen Center to help equip parents of children with language and social communication difficulties. Alissa enjoys working with neurodiverse children and their families and aims to further develop her knowledge of assessment and intervention with autistic individuals and their families.

Sara-Eve Renaud, M.P.O. - Speech-Language Pathologist

Sara-Eve is a young speech-language pathologist with a master's degree in speech-language pathology from Université de Montréal. She joined Clinique IUVO in 2022, but previously began her career at Hôpital de Verdun, where she worked with a varied inpatient clientele. She eventually developed a particular interest in oromotor disorders affecting speech and swallowing in both children and adults.

In addition to this, she is currently completing training courses with the goal of specializing in assessment and intervention with allophone and/or multilingual children and adults. She is interested in cross-linguistic and cross-cultural influences on language development and recovery.

In 2023, she joined the CHUM team, where she works occasionally with hospitalized patients with swallowing, voice, speech and/or communication disorders. She also gained experience working with outpatients in radiation oncology.

Sara-Eve is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ).

Katerina Pisegna, M.Sc.A. - Speech-Language Pathologist

Katerina is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from McGill University, where she developed a particular interest in neurological speech and language disorders.

In addition to working in private practice at Clinic Iuvo, she has also worked at the Montreal Neurological Institute with stroke and brain tumor patients, as well as those suffering from neurological disorders that can impact articulation, language and communication skills.

Her passion is working with adults and children with functional speech and language disorders, as well as the adult neuro population, those with fluency disorders and myofunctional orofacial disorders. She also works with people who have difficulties with swallowing, language, cognitive communication or voice disorders. She hopes to provide individuals and families with the support they need to thrive.

Corinne Toupin, M.Sc.A., S-LP(C) - Speech-Language Pathologist

Corinne obtained her master's degree in speech-language pathology from McGill University in 2011. In addition to her practice at Clinique IUVO, she has worked as a speech therapist in the school-setting for more than ten years. She helps children ages 3 to 12 presenting with difficulties in the areas of oral language (e.g. developmental language disorder (DLD)), written language (e.g. dyslexia-dysorthographia), speech sounds (e.g. phonological disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech) and social communication (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder). She has expertise with multilingual populations. In her care, she values parental involvement and communication with the child's settings.

Eugénie Préfontaine, M.Sc.A. - Speech-Language Pathologist

Eugénie completed a master's degree in speech-language pathology at McGill University in 2014. She began her career at the Montreal Children's Hospital, where she worked with various pediatric populations until 2020. With a bachelor's degree in opera singing from the Université de Montréal, the voice has always been an important part of her life. Over the years, she has developed an expertise in the treatment of vocal disorders. In 2021, she joined the team of speech therapists at CHUM, where she works mainly with patients with voice disorders, and sometimes swallowing disorders.

Alongside her work as a speech therapist, Eugénie is a soprano and sings professionally on an occasional basis, among others with the Opéra de Montréal choir. Her singing experience and extensive knowledge of the vocal instrument have enabled her to develop expertise in treating the singing voice as well as the speaking voice.

Eugénie is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ).

Dr. Shirine Chemloul - Psychologist and Neuropsychologist

Dr. Shirine Chemloul, psychologist and neuropsychologist, received her PhD from Université de Montréal in 2019. Her career path began with a deep immersion in the assessment of learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as their comorbidity with psychopathology. To further her knowledge, she then completed an internship at Douglas Hospital, where she assessed adults with mental disorders. She also completed a second internship in child psychiatry, specializing in children. In addition, during her school career, she held the position of assistant supervisor, gaining valuable experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Thanks to this vast experience, she is qualified to carry out neuropsychological assessments for a wide range of clients and purposes (e.g. ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, etc.).

Alongside her keen interest in assessing cognitive functioning, Dr. Chemloul has always been passionate about helping others. During her doctoral studies, she also devoted herself to training in psychology, with the goal of obtaining the title of psychotherapist. She practiced in a private clinic, working with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of psychological disorders. Her current psychotherapeutic approach is psychodynamic, driven by the conviction that past experiences profoundly influence present conflicts. She offers psychotherapy and psychological assessment services to adults.

Dr. Chemloul is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the Association Québécoise des Neuropsychologues (AQNP). She issues tax and insurance receipts.
