Language Stimulation

Structured programs to support language development in children and adolescents.

Sessions are led by a language stimulation agent — a trained specialist working under the direct supervision of one of our speech-language pathologists — providing children and adolescents with consistent, targeted support as part of their language development.

Every client begins with an initial consultation with one of our speech-language pathologists, who assesses their needs and establishes a personalized intervention plan. Depending on the situation, this may involve a complete evaluation or a more targeted summary evaluation — used when a full evaluation isn't required but enough information exists to define clear goals.

Once the plan is in place, the language stimulation agent carries out the sessions, guided by that plan and directly supervised by the SLP throughout.

Frequently asked questions

What does a session look like?

Sessions are individual and run either 50 or 25 minutes. The agent works with your child through a mix of structured exercises, activities, and play-based tasks — all chosen to target the specific goals outlined in their intervention plan.

How often are sessions held?

Most clients attend weekly or every two weeks, depending on their needs and schedule.

How is this different from seeing a speech-language pathologist directly?

Language stimulation is often the most appropriate — and more accessible — option for clients whose primary need is consistent practice and reinforcement, rather than complex clinical assessment or specialized therapy techniques. Your SLP will recommend the right fit at the initial consultation.

Is the speech-language pathologist still involved after the initial plan is established?

Yes. The SLP directly supervises the agent, regularly reviews your child's progress, and adapts the intervention plan as needed. If new goals emerge, the SLP may schedule a follow-up consultation to reassess.

What languages are sessions offered in?

Sessions are available in French and English.
